“The fans should not have doubts over the goodness of this project,” Moratti said to TMW Radio. “We are talking about very serious people who will look to ensure that the team is stronger than last year.”

The 71-year-old then dismissed any possibility of returning to work at Inter in some capacity.

“I maintain that there is no need for me to intervene. I have faith in these new owners, who are also helped by the experience of Thohir.”

Finally, Moratti refused to comment on speculation that Coach Roberto Mancini could leave, following rumours of a fall-out with the club’s hierarchy.

“I am not involved in the current Inter and because of that I cannot comment on the issue.”
