New Inter Coach Frank de Boer wants to challenge Juventus for the Scudetto - “nothing is impossible, no-one is unbeatable”.
The Bianconeri have won Serie A for the past five seasons in a row, and have added the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Medhi Benatia and Gonzalo Higuain this summer.
De Boer has replaced Roberto Mancini on the Beneamata bench, and doesn’t rule out an immediate title challenge.
“Nothing is impossible, no-one is unbeatable,” the former Ajax Coach replied when asked about Juventus at his official presentation.
“Sometimes things change. Juventus have reinforced, but our goal is to be closer than we have been in previous years. We’ll give our all to make life more difficult for them.”
De Boer was then asked about his squad, in particular Mauro Icardi, who has been linked with an exit.
“First of all, we’ll keep every player we don’t want to sell. Icardi is very important for me and he’ll stay. He's young, he can learn a lot, but he's already proven himself to be fantastic. We can work very well together, there won't be any problems.
"Now we need to adapt quickly, we’ll play with different formations.
“If we can hit an opponent by changing our shape then we’ll do it, what counts is for everyone to believe in what we do, the players especially.
“I’m convinced we’ll succeed, we can do it. We’re open to using different formations, it’s sometimes necessary to get the best results.
“This squad has more experience that my previous ones, and I think they’ll learn quickly. Usually you see the personality of a team after the winter break, but we’ll have to do it earlier.
“It’ll take patience, but I’m sure we’ll all learn quickly.
“Ever Banega? We’ve analysed the squad carefully. Banega is a players who can act as a regista, but we’ll see.
“At the moment I want everyone to stay, then we’ll see what we need or what we don’t need. We’ve watched videos before, but sometimes players can surprise you by playing in a different role.
“First of all we have to get to know the squad.”
