According to Italian reports, the club prompting Lorenzo Insigne to demand a Napoli raise is Arsenal.

The striker is the only home-grown player in the first team right now, but his future has been thrown into doubt after a damning interview with agent Fabio Andreotti today.

“In our last meeting, we didn't like some of the answers that the club gave us,” Andreotti told Radio CRC. “Lorenzo made a decision with his heart, but a player's professional life doesn't last forever, and when other clubs are willing to reward you financially, then you've got to get onto the market.

“With a heavy heart, I must say that there are clubs that are considering us. Napoli don't want to let him go, but the contract they're offering does not satisfy us, we have better offers.

“Three among the richest clubs in Europe want Lorenzo, and [sporting director Cristiano] Giuntoli has known this for a long time.”

According to Sportitalia, the club that has made the biggest offer to Insigne is Arsenal, already linked with the Italy international for several months.

It is also reported that Napoli proposed an improved contract worth €3m per year, but the player turned it down.

The Partenopei have already lost record-breaking top scorer Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus, as their Serie A rivals activated the release clause for €90m.
