However, The Sun claims the 29-year-old Spaniard is targeting a return to La Liga instead with Real Madrid.

The English newspaper maintains Fabregas personally contacted Merengues patron Florentino Perez to offer his services.

It'd be an interesting move considering his past with their arch rivals Barcelona, but he has played for Chelsea and Arsenal too.

Paris Saint-Germain are also known to be interested in Fabregas, who was dropped from the starting XI of Antonio Conte’s Premier League debut.
