Alberto Aquilani has officially made his transfer from Sporting CP to Pescara. “I am truly happy to be here and never had doubts.”

A statement from the Portuguese club confirmed a deal to sell the player, leaving Sporting with 30 per cent of his ownership.

“I am truly happy to be here and never had doubts on what choice to make,” said Aquilani in a Press conference.

“I am truly happy to be here and never had doubts on what choice to make,” said Aquilani in a Press conference.

“I immediately saw the great enthusiasm and desire to bring me to Pescara by both club and Coach. It was not an easy negotiation process, but the presence of Massimo Oddo – who I know well, having faced him many times in Rome Derbies – was decisive, because we have the same concept of football.

“I won’t deny that I had many offers, both in Italy and abroad, but Pescara was the right choice.”

The former Roma man had been at Sporting since 2015, when leaving Fiorentina as a free agent.

His previous clubs include Liverpool, Juventus and Milan.
