Palermo have completed the signing of free agent Alessandro Diamanti on a two-year contract.
Diamanti makes a speedy return to Italy after spending the second half of last season on loan at Atalanta from Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande, the latter of whom agreed to terminate his contract.
“US Citta di Palermo announce they have acquired the footballer Alessandro Diamanti,” read a statement on the Roasnero’s official website.

“The player, a free transfer, has signed for the club on a two-year contract, with the option for a third year.”
The 33-year-old also played for the likes of Livorno, Bologna and Fiorentina and represented the Azzurri 17 times, most notably at Euro 2012 and the 2013 Confederations Cup.
