Nikola Maksimovic could join Napoli, with Celtic’s Jozo Simunovic to replace him at Torino.

The Partenopei have been pursuing Maksimovic all summer, and the Serbian has gone on strike in an attempt to force a move.

Today Sky is reporting that new talks are underway, with Mirko Valdifiori to be sent to Turin as part of the deal.

While the Granata are still demanding more money, it’s thought Napoli are cautiously optimistic about getting the deal over the line.

While the Granata are still demanding more money, it’s thought Napoli are cautiously optimistic about getting the deal over the line.

That would then create a domino effect, with Vlad Chiriches free to leave San Paolo and join Sampdoria.

According to the Daily Mail, Torino would then turn to Croatian centre-back Jozo Simunovic, who is currently at Celtic.

The Scottish champions have today signed Cristian Gamboa, so it’s though they’re willing to sell Simunovic for €4.4m.

The 22-year-old moved to Glasgow last summer, but made just 11 League appearances for the Bhoys after suffering knee ligament damage in January.
