The England international flew into Turin yesterday, posing for fans with his new shirt and a club scarf, and today both clubs officially confirmed the move.

“Torino Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Joe Hart from Manchester City on a temporary basis,” the Granta statement reads, before Hart’s first words as a Toro player.

"Suddenly, my career has undergone a change, I took it as a sign of destiny, so I had to do something…” the goalkeeper admitted.

"The offer from Torino came at the right time, in the right way. I'm very happy to be able to test myself in a beautiful and difficult League like Serie A. Your goalkeeping tradition is recognised throughout the world, so I'm convinced I can learn a lot here at Toro.

"For that reason, I immediately accepted President Cairo's offer with great enthusiasm. In terms of the staff, I already know Lombardo, I worked together with Attillio in Manchester and we won, we hope to relive a lot of wonderful emotions together.

“I read some interviews from Toro, the Coach [Sinisa Mihajlovic] wants humble but ambitious players – I also really like that, that's how I want to be.”

City put out a statement of their own, thanking Hart for his service.

“Joe Hart has joined Torino on loan until the end of the 2016/17 season.

"A key figure in a golden age in the Club’s history, Joe has collected as many individual prizes as he has team honours in his decade at the Etihad Stadium.

"A popular, well-liked figure in the dressing room and a fans’ favourite thanks to his articulate, straight talking candour in interviews, Hart now joins Turin-based Serie A outfit, Torino for the remainder of the current campaign.

"From everyone at the club, good luck and thank you, Joe!"
