Agent Mino Raiola says the Azzurri are always on Mario Balotelli's mind, whilst Italy cannot afford Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 26-year-old was widely considered to be one of Italy's most promising strikers in decades, but his career stalled and later crashed, making him miss out on Euro 2016.

On from a transfer to Ligue 1 team Nice, where he has been very warmly welcomed, Super Mario will be looking for a fresh start.

“Nice was a technical decision,” his agent Raiola told Premium Sport. “We had alternatives in England, Spain, Germany and Italy, but Mario is happy.

“Football is too serious. In life there is no such thing as a final destination when you're willing to get back in the game.

“Mario is focused on Nice, although the Italian national team is always on his mind. There is great warmth here, it's the perfect environment for Mario. We've chosen an ideal technical project for him."

The agent then went on to discuss some of his other deals over the summer.

"I'm happy for [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and [Paul] Pogba, they're hungry for victories and there's a winning project at Manchester United. Italy can't afford Ibrahimovic, Milan are the club in his heart but his future was on a different path."
