Carlo Ancelotti admits he could “never train Atletico Madrid or Barcelona, any more than I could train Inter or Lazio.”

The Coach is well-travelled and has won titles in every country, so now begins a new adventure in Germany with Bayern Munich.

Curiously, one of his first tests will be in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.

“All of my matches against Atletico were always very complicated and I'm sure this one will be as well,” Ancelotti told Marca.

Curiously, one of his first tests will be in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.

“All of my matches against Atletico were always very complicated and I'm sure this one will be as well,” Ancelotti told Marca.

“The Final was really tough, and so were the quarter-finals in the season after that. We won, but we had to fight really hard and it took Chicharito coming in at the end.

“I expect to win at the Calderon, because I was never able to do that, not with Chelsea and not with Madrid. Bayern already know Atletico from the past season, and they have not forgotten.”

The Coach was then asked whether he'd ever train Atletico himself in future.

“No, I would never train Atletico or Barcelona. I respect history and I couldn't do that, any more than I could train Inter or Lazio in Italy, being a Milanista as I am.

“It's my history and I have to respect it. I hold Atletico and Barcelona in very high esteem, but I could never work with them after having spent two-and-a-half years with Real Madrid.”

Ancelotti has often said he'd love to be the Coach of Roma one day, having played for the club.
