Roberto De Zerbi has officially been confirmed as the new Palermo Coach, following Davide Ballardini’s resignation.

The Rosanero have played two Serie A games so far this season, with the most recent being a draw with Inter at San Siro.

However, that hasn’t prevented the first change on the bench of the season, as Ballardini walked away due to disagreements with the club.

“U.S. Città di Palermo announces that it has entrusted the guidance of the first team to Roberto De Zerbi,” a statement on the Sicilian club’s website confirmed.

“The Rosanero Coach will be presented today by sporting director Daniele Faggiano at the Press Room of Tenente Onorato di Boccadifalco, starting from 16.30 [15.30 UK time].”

No fewer than six men sat on the Palermo bench last season, not including Guillermo Barros Schelotto who was appointed as Coach but didn’t have the right paperwork.

Last term also saw Beppe Iachini and Ballardini hold the post twice.
