Maurizio Zamparini claims Napoli “can do more harm” without Gonzalo Higuain as Palermo “will need a miracle” when the two sides meet this weekend.

Palermo welcome Napoli to the Renzo Barbera on Saturday, with new boss Roberto De Zerbi debuting against his former club, and Zamparini made it clear he was a big fan of the Partenopei under Maurizio Sarri.

“Napoli? They are scary right now and can do more harm than that [the Napoli side] of Higuain. To get a result, we’ll need a miracle,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“I admire Sarri so much, and to be able to compete with Juventus, despite their significant player turnover, is a great achievement.”

Zamparini has described Dybala as ‘the new Lionel Messi’ in the past, but the patron believes his ex-protege still has some way before he can be compared to the Barcelona star.

“Dybala? He plays like Messi, but for the moment he isn’t [Messi],” he added.

“Although I believe that one day he’ll be like him, I’ve said it since he was very small.”
