Palermo are still without a Serie A win three games into the season as De Zerbi was humbled by former club Napoli on his debut in the Rosanero dugout over the weekend, but Zamparini claimed much of his team had struggled with fatigue.

“We knew it’d be a difficult debut for De Zerbi,” the President told Giornale di Sicilia.

“We had around 12 players with their national teams this week.

“With De Zerbi, we saw each other on the eve of the match and there was nothing to advise him about.

“Our campaign will start on Sunday.”
