There’s a war of words between Walter Sabatini and and Pantaleo Corvino, after the latter accused Roma striker Edin Dzeko of diving.

Fiorentina beat Luciano Spalletti’s side 1-0 at the weekend, with Corvino accusing the Bosnian of attempting to con a penalty out of the referee.

“Dzeko is a player of absolute sportsmanship,” Sabatini insisted, speaking to ANSA.

“He has demonstrated that throughout his history. It’s unacceptable that his came from a serious and well-prepared director like him [Corvino].

ANSA then tracked-down Corvino, who hit back with some statements of his own.

“I simply said that Dzeko should be admonished for simulation, it was a personal opinion just as the Roma directors have given theirs.

“As for the rest, given our ages it’s other forms of incontinence that we have to worry about, but that hasn’t come, at least for me…”
