Davide Calabria’s agent believes the Milan defender can become “a high-level full-back” after last night’s win over Lazio.
The 19-year-old played instead of Ignazio Abate in the 2-0 triumph at San Siro, and won praise for his performance.
“I expected a game like that, because he’s a totally reliable player,” Gianni Vitali insisted in an interview with MilanNews.
“He has character and personality as well as technical qualities. I’m always confident of a positive performance on his part, but football is about 11 players and the level of the team can also help the individual.
“Last night Davide played a good game and made his contribution.”
Vitale was also asked whether his client could have been sold in the summer, as the Rossoneri looked to fund their transfer campaign.
“[Adriano] Galliani and [Rocco] Maiorino were the first admirers of Calabria and there never came a time when they hinted at a possible sale.
“There was never a desire on Milan’s part to give him away, he was never for sale. There were several teams interested, but the club did well in not entering into negotiations.
“A year and two months ago he joined the first team and after one year his position has totally changed and that’s thanks to those who believed in him.
“That said, Calabria has to grow a lot more but I believe he can become a high-level full-back.”
