“When you start out as clear favourites, the difficulties increase. This year we introduced some quality players, but they need time to settle in, so this tricky start is understandable,” the director general told Mediaset Premium.
“Juventus cannot get it wrong tonight, both in terms of performance and result. It’s always the game of their lives for our opponents, so we cannot get the approach wrong tonight. In the long run, the quality of the individuals should come out on top.
“We have to get out there with the right mentality, not thinking that it’ll be easy.”
Hernanes is in the starting XI this evening rather than Mario Lemina.
“If (Max) Allegri decided to use him, then it’s a choice that was carefully considered. The formation is a little new, but we are in a phase of the season where we need to get the characteristics of the players fitting into the right group. I am confident, as we are very motivated.
“We aren’t yet in the best physical shape, as that will arrive in around a month and a half, just as it did last season. Players arrived at different stages of pre-season training, so it’ll take a while for everyone to be on the same page in terms of sharpness and pace.
“Allegri is studying the best methods, considering it is a long season and last term showed us how we can recover. In Serie A we are top of the table and have to stay there.”
