Carlo Ancelotti warns Milan’s potential new owners “Silvio Berlusconi will be impossible to match”.
The Rossoneri President is in the process of selling the club after 30 years, with Chinese consortium Sino-Europe Sports signing a pre-agreement to take over.
“I consider him my President,” Ancelotti told Il Giornale when asked about Berlusconi.
“The President of my life as well as my football career. Silvio Berlusconi wasn’t one of a lot of Presidents who brought lustre to Italian football and Milan’s history, he was a great innovator who dragged Italian football from the medieval era to the modern world.
“Just think about this detail: today a lot of clubs have a nutritionist on their staff, thirty years he was talking about proper nutrition at Milanello.
“The decisive move was to organise the football club as a company. Everything else came from that, the chain of command, the big ambitions, the guidelines for achieving success summed-up by the famous motto ‘to win and convince, to show respect for the opponent’.
“He did everything to choose a rookie Coach, Arrigo Sacchi, who practiced a unique style of football in Italy that was attacking.
“The unique results tell you everything else and they’ll go into the history books. I’ll say this to the next Milan [owners]: Silvio Berlusconi will be impossible to match.”
