Former Italy CT Cesare Prandelli has reportedly signed a two-year contract to take over Spanish side Valencia.

According to Calciomercato.it, Sky Sport Italia and multiple other sources, a two-year deal has now been worked out and an announcement is imminent.

However, the Italian won't begin working with the team until Monday.

Valencia sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch travelled to Italy to meet Prandelli, with the club’s owner Peter Lim ready “to satisfy all his requests” and agreeing that the ex-Fiorentina boss “possesses the necessary experience to revive the team”.

Los Che are 15th in La Liga after starting the season with four straight defeats, which led to the dismissal of Pako Ayesteran, although caretaker Voro has subsequently steadied the ship with successive victories.

Prandelli guided Italy to the Euro 2012 final and third place at the Confederations Cup a year later but resigned in wake of the Azzurri’s group-stage exit from the 2014 World Cup and was sacked later that year by Galatasaray, the last team he has managed.
