Reports in France suggest Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.

The Croatian striker has made seven appearances in all competitions this season, but is so far yet to score for the Bianconeri.

Mandzukic is a favourite of Coach Max Allegri, but the club’s record signing Gonzalo Higuain already has five goals in seven appearances.

Today, L’Équipe is reporting that PSG see the 30-year-old as a good complement to Edinson Cavani, and are keen to bring him to Parc Des Princes.

Tuttomercatoweb speculates that the Old Lady could use this opportunity to re-open talks for Blaise Matuidi, after a summer move collapsed.

However, there are two glaring problems with the potential transfer, the first of which is that both Mandzukic and Matuidi have already played in the Champions League.

That would mean that neither player would be able to play for another club in the same competition.

In addition, Juventus saw Simone Zaza and Alvaro Morata leave this summer, so Mandzukic represents the only out-and-out striker who could deputise for Higuain.
