Pescara Coach Massimo Oddo complained they “lacked experience, balance and a team ethic” in the 2-0 defeat to Chievo.

The Delfini were twice caught out on the counter, including one from their own corner kick, at the Stadio Adriatico.

“We lack experience, balance, today we lacked the team ethic. It seemed as if everyone wanted to change the game by themselves and we do not have the players who can do that,” Oddo told Sky Sport Italia.

“If we don’t play as a team, we will achieve very little. Today Chievo won the game and showed their superior experience.”

Pescara have conceded 11 goals in the second half this season, so do they run out of steam?

“It’s not a physical or fitness problem, as we run to the 90th, but we lack psychological balance. We conceded the goal during our best period of the game and continually lose the ball in midfield, which are things we have worked on repeatedly.

“The team must learn to read the various moments of the match, because otherwise they will keep making the same mistakes.

“We tend to get distracted at times by pouring forward and attacking, so we forget to defend and run into other teams who know how to pick the right moment.

“Our tackles aren’t strong enough and we are physically a little weaker than many other sides, so we have to be more determined to make up for that.

“Rey Manaj certainly has potential, but he’s not Gonzalo Higuain who can resolve the game for you. He has to work with and within the team unit.”
