Keita Balde Diao saw “a deserved victory” over Udinese, but is not getting distracted by Lazio’s current position.

The Senegal international was frozen out over the summer in a contract dispute, but has now scored in back-to-back Serie A games for the first time in his career.

“I have ice on my ankle as a precaution, but I’m accustomed to getting kicked,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 3-0 result in Udine.

“I work game by game and always try to do my best for myself and the team. Tonight we saw a real spirit of sacrifice from the squad and a deserved victory.

“It was important to get two wins in a row, which we were missing, and now we can go for international duty with calm minds and be fired up for a third consecutive victory.”

Lazio are now in joint third place with 13 points after four wins, a draw and two losses.

“I try not to look at the table, as we need to take it one game at a time and only see where we are at the end.”
