Alessio Romagnoli and Daniele De Rossi are expected to start in a 3-5-2 formation as Italy face Spain in a World Cup qualifier.
The clash kicks off on Thursday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT) at the Juventus Stadium in Turin.
According to the latest reports from the training ground, Giampiero Ventura is sticking with the 3-5-2 system.
Despite missing Sunday’s Serie A match between Milan and Sassuolo with an injury, Romagnoli has fully recovered and will be used from the start against Spain.
It’ll be his first senior Italy appearance and act as a replacement for suspended Giorgio Chiellini.
De Rossi is set to be used as the playmaker with Alessandro Florenzi and Mattia De Sciglio in wide roles.
Marco Parolo and Jack Bonaventura complete the midfield.
Eder and Graziano Pellè remain the favourites to start in attack.
Italy (probable): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Romagnoli; Florenzi, Parolo, De Rossi, Bonaventura, De Sciglio; Eder, Pellè
