The Bianconeri are trying to ensure the experience level in the back three does not drop in future, as Andrea Barzagli will be 36 in May.

Godin turns 31 in February and is under contract with the Colchoneros until June 2019.

He has been at Villarreal since 2010, having previously featured for Cerro, Nacional and Villarreal.
