Italy team manager Lele Oriali noted Graziano Pellè was kicked out of the squad after “unacceptable behaviour.”

The striker was substituted during Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Spain in Turin and when leaving the field refused to shake Coach Giampiero Ventura’s hand.

The tactician tried to play down the incident in his post-match comments and Pellè apologised.

However, the FIGC excluded him from the squad preparing for Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Macedonia.

“Pellè’s behaviour was unacceptable and we were forced to intervene,” Oriali told the ANSA news agency.

“The decision to exclude Pellè from the Nazionale was made jointly by the Coach and the Federation.”

There are reports the Shandong Luneng striker has played his last game for Italy, as Ventura was above all calling him up out of gratitude for the good work done at Euro 2016.

Giorgio Chiellini and Riccardo Montolivo have also pulled out of the next match due to injury.

Torino midfielder Marco Benassi was called in from the Under-21 side as cover for Montolivo.
