“The break allowed us to work hard on ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses, so that was very important and useful,” said Nicola in a Press conference.

“We worked on what we’re not yet doing right. Anyone who saw our training sessions over the last few days will have realised the extent of the progress we have made.

“Now we must verify that in a match situation against Sassuolo, a side that has completely transformed its horizons thanks to patron Giorgio Squinzi.

“Sassuolo are a wonderful example for all smaller Serie A clubs, carrying on their long-term project by getting through the early difficulties and reaping the rewards in the last couple of seasons.

“We believe in ourselves and are going to play with courage. If we whittle down our distractions, we can do it.”
