Mauro Icardi has appeared to confirm that he will remain Inter’s captain after he uploaded a picture of himself donning the armband on Instagram.
Icardi met with Inter’s board and Coach Frank de Boer on Monday afternoon over recent controversy stemming from his criticism of Nerazzurri ultras in his autobiography, which left his role as skipper under threat.
However, he subsequently wrote on social media: “Forza Inter #amala #MI9 #NonLaLascioMaiSola!”

Forza Inter Amala is the title of an Inter song, translating as ‘crazy Inter, I love her’, ‘non la lascio mai sola’ as ‘I’ll never leave her alone’, possibly referring to the captaincy.
Calciomercato also claims to have received confirmation from the Argentine’s camp that he will stay on as skipper.
