Maurizio Zamparini admits Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero “regrets” as he explains his reputation for being a ‘manager-eater’. “I had knuckleheads!”
In the second part of his interview with Sky Sport Italia ahead of Palermo’s 1000th Serie A game, which sees them host Torino, Zamparini spoke of his disappointment at failing to land the Argentine forwards, although his reference to Stefano Colantuono was not so affectionate.
“Mercato regrets? Tevez and Aguero,” the President confessed.
“At the time, we could spend money. We offered $15m, but we ripped [their destination clubs] off by offering more and they went to other teams.
“When Cavani was here, I had Coaches who were knuckleheads! Colantuono, for example, wanted me to send him to West Ham. I told him, ‘you can go to West Ham’.”
