Maicon has been training alone at Roma’s Trigoria ground for a month and worked with the squad for a while during the break for international duty.

According to Mediaset Premium, the Brazilian could make a comeback in the Giallorossi jersey on a pay-as-you-play contract.

This means he’d only really be paid for the number of appearances he makes.

The 35-year-old right-back is currently a free agent and has kept his fitness levels up.

His contract with Roma expired over the summer and he was not offered a renewal, having spent three years at the club.
