Medhi Benatia has revealed that Vincenzo Montella 'contacted him' about a possible move to Milan before he joined Juventus.

The defender spent a season at Roma before joining Bayern Munich in 2014, and said that he 'missed Italy' whilst in Germany, before moving on to discuss the differences between Pep Guardiola and current Coach Massimiliano Allegri.

"I came back because I missed the whole of Italy, from the cappuccino to the atmosphere," Benatia told Gazzetta dello Sport."Guardiola and Allegri? They are very similar, they both want to play a good style of football but are different in terms of personality. Allegri is closer to the players, whilst Guardiola does not communicate.

"With the players that have arrived at Juventus, we must aim for the Champions League this season."

The 29-year-old also discussed this summer's transfer market and revealed that Juventus weren't the only team that wanted him, and finally gave a prediction for his side's clash with Milan on Saturday.

"Montella is a great person and he contacted me, he was waiting for the Chinese takeover but I could not give him too much time.

"AC Milan – Juventus? It will end up 0-2."
