Manolo Gabbiadini insists he is not feeling the “pressure” at Napoli, despite his continued lack of appearances for the club.

Gabbiadini was expected to be given a greater role by Napoli after Gonzalo Higuain’s exit and serious injury to Arkadiusz Milik, but the former Sampdoria striker has played just 317 minutes of football this season – amounting to four complete games.

Nonetheless, he told Serie A TV: “Pressure? I live with it serenely.

“If I suffered under pressure, I wouldn’t be playing for Napoli. I’m serene and I train peacefully, then I go on the pitch and try to give my best.

“Logically, I’m sorry for Milik’s injury and I take this opportunity to send him and Montolivo my best wishes.

“The numbers are in my favour, for the games and goals that I’ve scored. I’m proud to be at a team like Napoli, but lately I haven’t played much.

“Last year, when Higuain was out and it was my turn, I met people in the street and they made me feel maybe a little too important.

“I’ve strangely experienced this situation again, but my teammates helped me on the pitch right away.”
