Maurizio Sarri tried to take the pressure off Manolo Gabbiadini after his red card, as Napoli earned a 2-1 victory in Crotone.

The Partenopei ended their run of three consecutive defeats in all competition, but their star striker was sent off for lashing out in a reaction foul.

“We made a few mistakes recently and today went down to 10 men early on, but we nonetheless held out well and only conceded in the final minute,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“We made a few mistakes recently and today went down to 10 men early on, but we nonetheless held out well and only conceded in the final minute,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“It’s just a pity for Manolo, as he will now be suspended. He is a very introverted, quiet and self-contained lad who needs to be in a relaxed atmosphere, instead he’s always getting dragged into controversy and debates. He needs to relax, focus on the pitch and not listen to anyone.

“As he is a strong player, he will get back to being a strong player. We all have faith in the lad, he will give us the satisfactions that he and we deserve.”

Amadou Diawara finally got his first start today, but there’s still no sign of summer buy Marko Rog.

“These are very young lads and it’s a mistake to think they’ll be ready after just 20 days of training. Rog comes from a different football world and is on the same path as Diawara.”
