The Brazilian fractured his fibula after an innocuous tackle during a training session at the beginning of October, but is slowly returning to fitness.

"I'm glad I removed the plaster, today I started physical therapy and worked in the pool,” The 24-year-old told Radiolina. “I'm moving forward.

“After the injury, the early days were difficult to get through but then over time I found courage through working hard and going to the stadium to support my teammates.”

The Rossoblu lost 4-0 to Juventus in Turin last month, but Joao Pedro says this is something that smaller teams must get used to.

“The defeat against Juventus? Faced with the great teams you must know how to defend and suffer, always giving the maximum."
