Manuel Locatelli’s agent doesn’t want his client rushed into the Italy squad - “there’s time, he’ll be called when he’s ready”.
The Milan midfielder has impressed this season, scoring a fantastic winner against Juventus and being compared to Gianni Rivera.
“Manuel is a very level-headed lad,” Stefano Castelnovo told Il Messaggero.
“He knows he can’t get big-headed. There’s time for the senior national team, [CT Giampiero] Ventura has given debuts to many young players, and he’ll call him when the right time comes.
“He’s gradually moving down his path, he doesn’t want to overdo it or bite off more than he can chew.
“Manuel is a serious professional, he’s very private and likes to spend his free time with family. He’s won over the fans with his performances, his goals yes but also some spectacular play.”
Castelnovo was asked for his client’s reaction to scoring the winner past Gianluigi Buffon.
“He was very excited, he thought was living a dream.”
