Atalanta Coach Gian Piero Gasperini thinks that Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri 'needs time' in order to realise the club's Champions League success.

The 58-year-old also detailed his own side's ambitions of an Europa League finish, but admitted that 'it will be difficult'.

"We’re having a great time, but it will be difficult to defend this position," he continued in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport. "To get into Europe we must hope that some big clubs fail during the season.

"Atalanta has to think about growing and developing. This will happen because the club is serious, it has superior facilities, a passionate audience and we have already seen interesting prospects coming from the youth sector.

"The project is clear and lies with the young players. Are Atalanta styled on Athletic Bilbao? We won’t go to those extremes, because if there is a good player who does not speak the Bergamo dialect then I will take him gladly!"

What does the experienced Coach think of Juventus this season?

"Allegri needs time. Certainly, after the recruitment drive aimed at the Champions League, Juve must reach the latter stages of the competition. In Italy sometimes they can ‘make do’ but in Europe they cannot do this."

What does the Coach think about Pep Guardiola?

"I really like him and his football ideology. Some say that the tiki-taka is boring: I do not think so. But Luis Enrique is a good coach: I respected him when he was at Roma and he took a lot of criticism."
