Giampiero Ventura continues to test the 4-2-4 formation against Liechtenstein, though there are doubts at right-back.

The World Cup qualifier kicks off in Vaduz on Saturday at 19.45 GMT.

For the fourth day running, the Azzurri practiced the 4-2-4 system at the Coverciano training ground.

The line-up also seems to be relatively set, except for right-back where Torino’s Davide Zappacosta is the new favourite to start rather than Matteo Darmian.

Giacomo Bonaventura appears to have beaten Lorenzo Insigne to the wide left role in the attacking quartet.

This morning Ventura had the squad come together for a lengthy video session to learn specific movements for this new tactic.

In the afternoon the tactical tests continued on the training pitch.

It’s believed that during the game, Bernardeschi will come in for Antonio Candreva and Insigne for Bonaventura.

Tomorrow morning the team will again go into a training session before flying out to Liechtenstein in the afternoon.

Italy: Buffon; Zappacosta, Bonucci, Romagnoli, De Sciglio; Verratti, De Rossi; Candreva, Belotti, Immobile, Bonaventura
