There are reports Cesare Prandelli wants to sign Lapadula for Valencia in January.

“Valencia have an Italian Coach and it could well be they are looking towards the Italian market, but as far as we are concerned there has been no contact. He is a Milan player and wants to remain a Milan player,” agent Gianluca Libertazzi told TMW Radio.

His week then got even better with a maiden call-up by the Italy squad.

“It was a great week after a difficult spell. This goal and the call-up had a really positive influence on the lad.

“As soon as he heard the news, he called me to express all his joy. He was incredulous and stunned at this call, which was just as welcome as it was unexpected.”

Peru had tried to call up Lapadula last year when he was hammering in Serie B goals for Pescara, as his mother is Peruvian, but Lapadula turned them down.

“Gianluca was very clear on this matter – he was thankful for the show of respect from Peru, but he was born and raised in Italy. He’s never even been to Peru, so he didn’t want to take anyone for a ride.”
