Giampiero Ventura is set to call promising young players for an Italy training camp, including Marco Benassi, Antonio Barreca and Manuel Locatelli.

The Coach has made it clear one of his main objectives is to bring in the next generation of Azzurri.

He organised a ‘stage’ at the Coverciano training ground on November 22 and 23.

Naturally only the players whose teams are not involved in European competition will take part and it’s a session to see players close up.

Among the candidates are some of Serie A’s best young talent, such as Milan’s 18-year-old midfielder Locatelli, Torino men Benassi, Barreca and Daniele Baselli.

Rossoneri full-back Davide Calabria should get a chance with Lazio’s Danilo Cataldi and Pescara forward Gianluca Caprari.

Atalanta quartet Roberto Gagliardini, Mattia Caldara, Andrea Conti and Andrea Petagna are options, as are Bologna’s Adam Masina and Gian Marco Ferrari.
