Roma’s proposed new stadium is likely to be delayed, after a negative report from the superintendent of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape.

The Giallorossi are in the process of trying to get approval from the Lazio region to begin construction of a stadium of their own.

After a series of delays, it was hoped that the builders could break ground in March, but that now appears unlikely.

As reported by Il Tempo, the superintendent of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape, Margherita Eichberg, has sent a very negative report to the region.

It’s claimed that a landscape survey wasn’t carried out, with “very tall buildings” seen as critical to the proposal.

In addition, Eichberg warns that infrastructure projects would “interfere with monuments and the landscape”.

Therefore it appears Roma will have to carry out a landscape survey, and resubmit the plans with that included.
