Maurizio Sarri had “no doubt” Lorenzo Insigne would break his goal drought and silence critics in Napoli’s 2-1 victory at Udinese.

“It was a difficult match against a side that has done very well under Gigi Del Neri, while we also had some uncertainty after the break for international duty,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“The response from the lads was positive in that sense. It’s a shame we conceded the goal, because we had done well in defence, but it is a deserved victory.

“Insigne was in a difficult situation, because he had a fever yesterday and this morning did not take part in training. The brace is a good confidence booster, but nobody ever put his qualities into doubt.

“Sooner or later, his talent had to shine through, that was clear.”

Today’s brace at the Dacia Arena ended a run of 17 matches without a goal for Insigne.
