The Nerazzurri are on the verge of crashing out at the first hurdle in this tournament following three defeats and a single home win over Southampton.

Pioli is the third Coach to lead them in this competition after Frank de Boer and caretaker manager Stefano Vecchi, but Inter did impress during his debut 2-2 draw with Milan on Sunday.

There are some changes forced upon him, as Gary Medel is out following knee surgery, joined by Davide Santon and Rodrigo Palacio.

Joao Mario, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Stevan Jovetic and Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa are not eligible for the Europa League due to Financial Fair Play parameters.

Therefore Felipe Melo gets a rare start with Marcelo Brozovic in midfield, moving Banega up to join Antonio Candreva and Eder in the trio supporting hitman Icardi.

Hapoel Be’er-Sheva caused a huge upset in the opening game of the group when they won 2-0 at San Siro with second half goals from Miguel Vitor and Maor Buzaglo.

The Israelis are yet to score on home turf, playing a goalless draw with Southampton and losing 1-0 to Sparta Prague.

Inter will be out of the Europa League if they lose this evening, while Hapoel must avoid defeat – or hope Saints are beaten by Prague – to stay in the running.

Elyaniv Barda, Maor Melikson and Vladimir Broun are unavailable for Barak Bakhar’s men.

The last Inter away victory in Europe was 1-0 at Dnipro in September 2014, a game decided by Danilo D’Ambrosio.
