Highly-rated Empoli attacker Riccardo Saponara believes the game against Milan on Saturday will be 'emotional'.

The 24-year-old made eight appearances for the Rossoneri between 2013 and 2015, and also praised the 'strength of the unit' at current club Empoli.

"The support of the fans gives a strength of the unit at Empoli but it is a nice added value also for the players," Saponara told Empoli Channel. "In some places after defeats you create an atmosphere of animosity which is also quite dangerous.

"The fact that it does not happen at Empoli is positive, but now we also have the duty to repay the affection and trust that the fans have in us.

"There is always a bit of emotion on my part when I play against Milan, good memories of when I played at Milan have stayed with me. I have always been a fan of the club and still know many people, but the emotion will be one more incentive to do well.

"They have quality and individuality to do well, they are humble people and they know they are behind the three best clubs, although this drives them to close the gap."
