Juventus are planning ahead for next season and if Marco Verratti proves too expensive, the alternative is Corentin Tolisso of Lyon.

The Bianconeri are determined to improve the midfield after bringing in players to bolster defence and attack.

Axel Witsel was supposed to arrive over the summer and sat in the Bianconeri headquarters for 13 hours waiting for Zenit authorisation that never came.

The Belgium international has hinted he’ll end up a Juve regardless, either in the January transfer window for €5m or next season as a free agent.

He won’t be the only addition, as Tuttosport claim the Old Lady is turning to Ligue 1 for another major reinforcement.

The prime target is Verratti, but Paris Saint-Germain do not seem prepared to let him go unless they receive an offer in the region of €90m.

A cheaper alternative is Tolisso, who scored for Olympique Lyonnais against Juventus in the Champions League.

He recently penned a new contract to June 2020 and Tuttosport claim Juve can offer players in exchange to lower the price-tag to €25m.

The 22-year-old has a real eye for goal, scoring six and providing three assists in 19 competitive matches this season.

Another option is 21-year-old Schalke 04 talent Leon Goretzka.
