“We step on to the field aiming to win every match. We have to break with the past and win, above all at the Stadio Franchi,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Tomorrow Palermo will be under a new Coach, Eugenio Corini, and we’ll have to quickly figure out what their strategy is going to be.

“This is a match with hidden dangers and we will not underestimate Palermo.”

Sousa was criticised for some of his decisions in recent weeks, including teenagers Joshua Perez and Federico Chiesa when chasing the game down to 10 men against Inter.

“Age doesn’t matter. We chose Perez and Chiesa for their abilities in taking men on in one-on-one situation.”

Mauro Zarate has been consistently left out of the side, so is a January exit a certainty? And is there news on the Gonzalo Rodriguez contract extension?

“Zarate has already talked about it. As for Rodriguez, I’ll talk about it when I work as a director, but right now I work as a Coach.

“We must find consistency and grow through difficult moments. We saw hunger and individual hard work against Inter, so we need to build on that.”
