Wojciech Szczesny reveals how he was able to save the M’Baye Niang spot-kick as Roma beat Milan. “I studied his past penalties.”

Niang failed to convert a penalty for the second game running, as Alex Cordaz of Crotone also parried it last week.

“We were very concentrated and focused, Milan had zero chances aside from the penalty, so we did a very professional job,” the Giallorossi goalkeeper told Mediaset Premium.

“I’d rather not tell you my technique on penalties, because the next striker I face could be watching this interview…

“In this case it was a matter of studying, because I had seen the last few Niang penalties and realised he tended to change corner every time he missed. Last time he missed to the right, so I hoped he’d do that again and switch to the left.

“It is very important not only to do the work on the training ground, but also in studying the opponents.”
