Andrea Bertolacci was glad to make his comeback after a lengthy injury and thanked Milan Coach Vincenzo Montella.

The midfielder had played only five minutes in the opening game of the season against Torino, but started this evening’s 1-0 defeat to his old club Roma.

“It has been a difficult year with many injuries and frankly it’s strange, because I’ve never had this many problems in my career,” Bertolacci told Sky Sport Italia.

“It has been a difficult year with many injuries and frankly it’s strange, because I’ve never had this many problems in my career,” Bertolacci told Sky Sport Italia.

“Now we have to look forward. I thank the Coach, because he understands better than anyone else how to make the most of my characteristics. He trained me in the Roma youth academy when I was a kid, so he knows me well.

“I tried to give my all and it’s a shame about the result, but the Coach complimented us for facing a side like Roma with heads held high.”

Bertolacci didn’t emerge unscathed, because he cut his chin in an accidental clash with Kevin Strootman.

“Yeah, I needed three stitches.”

This weekend top two Juventus and Roma go head-to-head in Turin.

“I hope it’ll be a draw.”
