Vincenzo Montella believes Milan “deserved more” than one point from recent games against Roma and Atalanta.

The Rossoneri were beaten 1-0 at the Olimpico on Monday evening and were held to a goalless draw tonight.

“The team showed impressive mental strength, as we pinned Atalanta into their own half. We deserved more over the last two games,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“The team showed impressive mental strength, as we pinned Atalanta into their own half. We deserved more over the last two games,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“I compliment the lads and it’s a shame, because the win would’ve been the icing on the cake today. I am nonetheless happy with our position in the table and what the lads are doing.

“The team is improving, this was a test of our maturity and we passed. We felt a goal could arrive at any moment, but it never did. At least we didn’t lose, as that can happen in games like this.

“People talk so much about our young players, but I thought Ignazio Abate and Gabriel Paletta were our best performers today. Atalanta are a really good side and you can tell the work that has gone into this project.

“As for us, we are five points clear of sixth place and at this stage of the season we can consider ourselves satisfied.”
