Maurizio Sarri hailed “extraordinary” Dries Mertens after four goals to beat Torino 5-3, but still wasn’t happy with Napoli defending.

The little Belgian has truly become a False 9 with a hat-trick last week against Cagliari and four today, including an audacious chip from the tightest of angles.

“I think Dries is an extraordinary player, but also at this moment the team is producing many chances to facilitiate him,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“I think Dries is an extraordinary player, but also at this moment the team is producing many chances to facilitiate him,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“In terms of mentality we need to improve, because this game should’ve been closed at half-time and instead we managed to let Torino back into it.

“When it comes to quality, I can have no complaints. We did conceded three stupid goals with errors we absolutely should not be making.”

If Napoli play like this, they can really cause Real Madrid huge problems in the Champions League in February.

“It’d be a terrible mistake to even think about Real Madrid right now. We have to just keep playing with this quality and improve our mentality.

“We have to prepare for the next match against Fiorentina and try to correct the errors we made today. We can’t always score five goals.”
