Eusebio Di Francesco was “comforted” by injury-ravaged Sassuolo’s performance, even if they lost 1-0 to Inter.

An Antonio Candreva strike at the dawn of the second half proved enough to grab all three points at the Mapei Stadium.

“We had some opportunities that we didn’t make the most of against a side of great quality and made a costly error on the goal,” Di Francesco told Sky Sport Italia.

“We had some opportunities that we didn’t make the most of against a side of great quality and made a costly error on the goal,” Di Francesco told Sky Sport Italia.

“We didn’t have enough quality in the final choices and lacked a bit of luck too. I am comforted that the team continues to put in good performances, even against important clubs.

“Our first half against Fiorentina was exceptional, so this means the team is alive and kicking, but we must improve on certain situations if we want to remain competitive.

“The plan for now is to get back as many players from the treatment room as possible, because with the current squad at our disposal we can only look over our shoulders.”
