“We want to win in order to make our fans happy and go into the winter break more relaxed,” the Coach said in his Press conference.

“Nobody likes to lose. Now we have to look forward, as I told the lads. Some things didn’t satisfy me against Empoli, but we cannot look behind us now.”

Could Rastelli quit before he is pushed?

“The word is not in my vocabulary. The training retreat helped, as we needed to look each other in the eye and understand why we alternate good and bad performances. We’re facing this with the right spirit.

“Marco Capuano will start. Tomorrow what really matters is honouring the shirt. I expect an important result. Marco Borriello did train, but is not at his best and the same goes for Nicola Murru, but if needed they could be used during the game.

“Eusebio Di Francesco is one of the few real friends I have in football, so it’ll be nice to see him again. Despite their many absentees, Sassuolo always play good football.”

Federico Melchiorri has been ruled out for two months with a relapse of his knee injury, while Mauricio Isla and goalkeeper Colombo are suspended.

Cagliari squad for Sassuolo: Crosta, Rafael, Storari; Bittante, Bruno Alves, Capuano, Ceppitelli, Murru, Pisacane, Salamon; Barella, Dessena, Di Gennaro, Joao Pedro, Munari, Padoin, Tachtsidis; Borriello, Farias, Giannetti, Sau
