Inter seem to have finally found their feet since Suning’s takeover over the summer, with the Nerazzurri on a four-game winning run, now just five points behind third-placed Napoli and ready to be backed in the upcoming transfer window.

“Suning is a very serious consortium,” the Vice-President said at the International Sports Conference in Dubai.

“It wants to make history with Inter. It has so many projects and wants to do well [with Inter].

“We want to do the best for our club, with our values, and hope to be back among the best in the world.

“The investment? I think it’s very good news. Our objective is to be back among the best, we’ve changed a lot over the last three-four years at both team and corporate level.

“The new owners have clear ideas, are focused and I think Inter can go back to being both a leading player in major competitions and among the highest levels.”

Zanetti then spoke of his gratitude for being taught “the culture of work” by Inter during his 19-year spell at the club as a player.

“During my career, I learned that without sacrifice, you can’t do anything,” he added.

“In Italy I learned a lot, I was lucky to have played for Inter, who gave me so much and taught me the culture of work. Thanks to them, I can face any challenge.”
